On the farm of our grandfather Janus and grandmother Hendrika Bruurs-Verhoeven in Goirle on the Breehees, a cheese factory was started in 1981.

The artisanal preparation is what makes the taste of our cheese so rich, powerful and unique. After all, all the flavor characteristics of the milk are retained. Much of the preparation is by hand. Dedication, feeling for the cheese and very clean work are necessary to obtain a tasty cheese.

Calf at cow’s side

At Kaasboerderij de Ruurhoeve, the so-called “family herd” has been the common form of raising calves since 2006. This means that calves stay with their mothers until weaning age.

Enjoying tranquility and farm life

Surrounding Cheese Farm De Ruurhoeve is over 30 acres of farmland. In the rest of Hoogeloon, we lease about 80 additional acres of natural land to grow our agricultural products. Some products that are structurally or regularly on the land are:

– herb-rich grassland
– cornfield
– potatoes
– sugar beets
